I don't know about you, but I've found in my old age of 30, that I need post it notes. It could be due to the fact that over the last three years, we've been in a custody squabble and documenting everything is simply exhausting and mind squishing. It could be due to the fact that I'm keeping my life/job in order, my husband's life/job in order, our 'out of reach' six year old and his life/school in another state, need to remain in order. Or, that this jet setting lifestyle that has become the new "routine," needs to stay organized and in order. Frankly, I'm shocked that I can even remember my not so new last name!
Well, I've acquired a new fondness for my "memory notes," as well as my ongoing love for my precious step-son's drawings. So, I decided to combine the two. Who can't help but smile when they see the world's most awesome garbage truck AND they are reminded of something important! (Little joys *sigh*... I'm all about those these days)
There was a small amount of genetics that my mother passed on to me. A very small amount. But, one of those genes is the love for cuteness. The ability to giggle and fall in love with something that is so preciously wonderful. Therefore, I knew I must get customized post it notes made for Christmas this year. My mom's side of the family draws names every year and this year I had my Aunt. It was the PERFECT fit. She loved "Darling" things, she's older than I, so she probably grew a love for post it notes a handful of years back and this was going to be a gift of more than a second brain. It was the gift of a smile and a giggle. (My favorite!)
Please, don't mistake my words for rudeness. I don't mean anything I've written in this blog, in a demeaning way, at all. To me, a post it note is a bit like toilet paper. It's just something that you need or comes in handy.
I took my three favorite drawings that our mini artist had done and went to www.vistaprint.com. Most everyone has heard of vistaprint, but if you haven't checked out their site, I highly encourage you to. It's very easy to figure out 'how to' create anything and they have a spread of items that, at times, can be overwhelming, but who doesn't want options?
The final product, was so wonderful, that the little man has voiced his desire to have his own post it note collection. (For him to draw on, of course.) My aunt, my mom and mother-in-law also LOVED their personalized memory helpers and I kept this one for me!

2015 has turned into a "one of a kind" type year, so I am grateful that my memory note displays this One Of A Kind garbage truck created by an extra amazing, ONE OF A KIND, future garbage truck driver.
**A very happy smile just came across my face and my heart was filled even more with an abounding love for this boy, his talents, and the fact that I get to go another day and actually remember what would have probably been forgotten.**
